We attended the DSAG Technology Days 2026!

Strategically Integrate Generative AI into SAP On-Premise

„Lights on Layers. Clarity-by-Design?“: This year’s theme for the DSAG Technology Days It addressed the SAP community’s desire for a clear and systematic overview of the various SAP topics across their technical, strategic, and commercial dimensions. At the DSAG Technology Days in Hamburg, Milliarum will demonstrate how generative AI can be integrated into SAP on-premise and cloud systems in a structured, controlled, and reliable manner, and why transparency across all architectural layers is a prerequisite for sustainable innovation.

On March 17 and 18, 2026, the SAP community gathered at the Congress Center Hamburg for one of the most important technology events in the German-speaking world. The German-Speaking SAP User Group (DSAG) brought together more than 3,000 tech enthusiasts, software architects, and decision-makers to discuss current developments from both strategic and technical perspectives. The theme „Lights on Layers. Clarity-by-Design?“ highlighted a key challenge: SAP landscapes are becoming more complex, integration scenarios more diverse, and the pressure to innovate is mounting. Companies need robust architectural decisions rather than isolated AI experiments. Anyone who wants to use future-proof technologies and artificial intelligence productively must understand at which system level they are integrated, how data flows are controlled, and what governance structures are required.

Architectural Clarity Instead of AI Haste: Systematically Exploring Potential

Milliarum positioned itself at this intersection: At As of 17 We demonstrated how existing on-premise SAP environments can be strategically enhanced with AI. The focus was on the Milliarum UI5 Construction Kit for efficient Fiori app development in ABAP, as well as the Milliarum AI Construction Kit for the structured integration of generative AI capabilities. Our approach does not provide black-box solutions, but rather transparent architecture: AI is not simply imposed, but is integrated in a controlled manner into existing processes through defined interfaces, clean layer separation, and clear responsibilities. Together with visitors to our booth, we aim to analyze specific application scenarios and explore the potential that can be unlocked in business processes—ranging from dialog-based analyses to AI-powered decision support.

Partner Presentation: Integrating Generative AI in a Technically Sound Manner

The highlight of our program was the Partner lecture by Milliarum CEO Dirk Ott and SAP consultant Niron Uthayakumar on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in Room Z (3rd floor)). The theme was „Integration of Generative AI with SAP On-Premise – Milliarum AI Construction Kit, MCP Server with SAP BTP, Joule Integration“. The presentation systematically outlined the options for integrating generative AI into SAP on-premise architectures. Using specific use cases, we demonstrated how SAP data can be made contextually usable, how business objects can be made interactive, and how decision-making processes can be optimized with AI support. In addition, the speakers explained integration into agent systems, in which AI agents analyze data, initiate process steps, and react proactively to changes. A live demo provided a hands-on experience of the interaction between SAP on-premise, SAP BTP, MCP Server, and generative AI models.
